Short bio: Stan Bühne is Vice Managing Director of IREB GmbH and responsible for the new business segment ‘Digital Design’. Stan has 15 years of experience in requirements engineering, business analysis and project management. Before joining IREB he worked for different consulting companies and was responsible for a number of digital transformation projects in the telecommunications environment.

In our society, digital solutions (such as Airbnb, Google Glasses, Lime, ...) are becoming more and more common. But even if every month a vast number of digital solutions appear – not every digital solution is useful and usable – sometimes they are even harmful with respect to data protection or data security.
That's one of the reasons why we shouldn't neglect the fact that digital solutions affect our lives, as they have impact on how we behave, feel and react in the real world. Good digital design requires clear principles and toolkits to make digital solutions successful and sustainable, and to put the user first. In this talk, I introduce digital design and discuss the need for additional skills to develop successful and sustainable digital solutions, considering the whole ecosystem.
